Trash Truck!!!

I just think it’s time to say something about the recycling and trash situation here.  Basically, it’s like this: pretty much everything is recycled and it all needs to be sorted separately.  Apparently you will get fined if you don’t recycle properly.  In my apartment the main piles we’ve had are plastic, paper, glass, aluminum/metal and food waste.  Yes, that’s right, food waste.  We aren’t supposed to throw away food but it will attract bugs if it’s left out, so we keep a food waste bag in the fridge.  And you really don’t want to open that one by accident!  Anyway, another fun feature is that the way to get rid of garbage and recycling is to run out to catch the truck at the appointed time.  That is a huge struggle and we miss it a lot or just aren't around when it comes or are the people running frantically with bags of garbage trying to catch it.  It plays a fun little ditty and actually sounds suspiciously like an ice cream truck.  For your viewing pleasure I took a little video the last time I took out the garbage.
